Here is a TV stand for displaying game consoles behind glass doors. In my experience, glass doors are often a hindrance for accessing electronics, so I wanted a system where I can stow these doors on demand. This is ideal for an enclosed display case that is also completely accessible when needed.

Inspired by convertible automobiles, the glass doors stow on the fly. They piggyback onto side drawers (used for controllers and games) for the sliding/stowing mechanism. Now there’s no glass in the way of gaming.

Unfortunately, the glass doors are affixed to the drawers here. I went with this system because it was the simplest and most space-efficient. The glass doors could have their own dedicated stowing mechanism, but that adds more complexity. At least for this design, they can open independently:

A bit complicated, but I wanted something that would display everything nicely (while fighting dust), and open up easily for swapping games or to allow for corded controllers when needed.

This can also be used for other electronics, like Blu-ray players or stereos, I just felt the most usage would occur with game consoles.
